  • Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival 2017

    Shuang Lin Monastery has a long history in organising Mid-Autumn festivities. This year, the monastery was glad to celebrate the with lantern sets symbolic of bountiful harvests and happy children. Event highlights began on 30th September with light-up and official opening by Mr. Saktiandi Supaat, MP for Bishan Toa Payoh GRC, lion and dragon dance, folk songs, lantern riddels and many more cultural performances.   • Ngee Ann Polytechnic Students’ Study Visit

    On 4 January 2017, a total of 50 students and 1 lecturer, Chen Xuewei, from Chinese Studies at Singapore Ngee Ann Polytechnic visited the monastery.   • Kunju Opera – Grievance from a former birth

    In conjunction with the opening ceremony of Dharma Hall and Sutra Hall of Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery, the renowned Zhejiang Kunju Opera was invited to perform the “Grievance from a Former Birth” between 12th and 13th November 2017 for the first time in Singapore.   • Mr. George Yeo‘s Visit

    Mr. George Yeo, former Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs visited the monastery on 18 September 2015. Our abbot, Venerable Wai Yim specially showed him around with a few advisors of the monastry, explaining to him the progress of the restoration work undertaken recently.
